2011 Annual Fund Campaign

Dear Friend of the Museum of Printing History,

As 2011 draws to a close, I am writing you to request your consideration of the Museum for a charitable contribution to our Annual Fund.

I am sure you agree with me that the Museum is very special. While keeping alive traditional artistic practices of printing and the arts of the book, our educational programming plays an essential role in Houston's cultural landscape, with offerings that are unique to our city, the state, and the region. Through collaborations with other fine institutions, a greater emphasis on our educational programming, and an effort to present our rotating exhibitions to an even broader audience, the word is spreading about our Museum!

I feel that we are at a point in our development as an institution and a cultural asset that makes us deserving of a commitment from you. These funds are essential in order for us to continue to fulfill our educational mission and make a long lasting and significant impact in the community.

With a full time staff of three, two part time staff members, a Board of Directors and a dedicated group of volunteers, the museum served almost 24,000 persons this year. The excellent exhibitions are on display, the challenging educational programs are in place, and we continue to offer free admission. However, because of the increasing costs of operations, building maintenance, insurance and utilities, we need your support to continue the excellent programming you have come to expect and that you deserve!
