Where The Border of Water Meets The Air, Dragonflies Gather

February 28, 2013– May 25, 2013

Zengying Xu (Shanghai, China), Auspicious Cloud, Woodcut, 2012.

Where The Border of Water Meets the Air, Dragonflies Gather, organized by Danish artist Susanne Thea and American artist Diana Eicher, consists of printed works by 15 contemporary artists from Europe, Asia, Africa, and the United States. Each artist—working in traditional printmaking techniques, such as screen-printing, relief, intaglio, and lithography—responded to the theme of artist as explorer. Much like the dragonfly that must negotiate a delicate balance at lake’s edge between water and air, the artist must pursue a path of inspiration that balances creative impulse and artistic promotion to achieve an overall victory. Artists represented are Diana Eicher, St. Paul, Minnesota, USA; Susanne Thea, Korsoer, DENMARK; Sylvia Taylor, Ithaca, New York, USA; Sarah Heidema, West Layfayette, Indiana, USA; Etiido Inyang, Port Harcourt, NIGERIA; Malone Dietrich, Copenhagen, DENMARK; Danielle BERTHET, Aix les Bains, FRANCE; Satoshi Takahira, Ikoma City, JAPAN; Anni Rose, Skælskø, DENMARK; Zengying Xu, Shanghai, CHINA; Dawn Rossbach, Minnesota, USA; Grainne Cuffe, Bray,Co.
