Book Fair

The Ninth Annual Houston Book Fair will take place on Saturday, November 5, 2011 from 10am-5pm

On Saturday, November 5th, the ninth annual Houston Book Fair at the Museum of Printing History will delight visitors with a wide range of items from moderately priced used books to rare and collectible volumes. The fair will provide a great variety of material for gift giving or personal enjoyment. The working studios will also be open for a variety of demonstrations led by artists. From papermaking to letterpress printing, to bookbinding and lithography, visitors will be introduced to the Museum’s workshop offerings.

From 10am-12pm, local book appraiser, Kurt Zimmerman will provide free book appraisals (limit 2) for Book Fair attendees. Visitors are encouraged to bring a couple of books and find out how much they are worth.

Tony Diaz and David Kaplan, contributors to Literary Houston will give a presentation at 12:00 P.M. in the Museum Theatre. Literary Houston is a collection of historical and contemporary writing about this Texas city.

At 2:00 P.M., local author and Texas Southern University professor, Michael Berryhill, will give a presentation in the Museum Theatre on his recent book The Trials of Eroy Brown: The Murder Case that Shook the Texas Prison System.

Copies of both books will be for sale, available for signing by the authors, courtesy of Brazos Bookstore.
